Improving Our Transportation Systems
Over the past ten years, State money for construction has decreased while the population has skyrocketed. Chris worked with the private sector and through other means to secure more than $50 million in new road construction. Chris is dedicated to finding the real solution to our traffic problems, including high speed rail and working to reduce the commute that our residents make by bringing high paying jobs closer to home.

Working For Lower Taxes
Three of the past four years under Chris' leadership, Spotsylvania county has not raised the real estate tax rate, but has been able to substantially increase funding to our vital services including teacher pay increases, adding more sheriff's deputies, and increasing fire and rescue personnel by 30%. Government should live within it's means. Under Yakabouski's leadership, the Board of Supervisors instituted revenue recovery, bringing in nearly $2.5 million for the county's Fire and Rescue Budget.

Improving Our Children's Education
Chris is most proud of his work to improve Spotsylvania's school system, starting with teacher pay. Our teachers make or break the quality of education and getting them what they need to do their job is Chris' top priority. Chris proposes expanding real estate tax relief to include our teachers. This will enable localities to keep top quality teachers and make our education system the envy of the State.

Securing Our Borders
The hard working taxpayers of our state should not have to pay for the costs associated with illegal immigration. Our politicians have shown a lack of courage in securing our borders and this translates into real costs for us. Rewarding illegal immigration is wrong. "I will work with law enforcement to make sure our immigration laws are strictly applied," said Chris. "America can ill afford to allow our borders to remain so porous and Virginia cannot afford to become a safe haven for illegals."
